MINDA – Simulating Entire Corrugated Packaging Lines
MINDA Industrieanlagen GmbH, headquartered in Minden, develops and manufactures customized solutions for in-house material handling and intralogistics with a team of 395 employees.
The company focuses primarily on the corrugated board, paper, and solid board industries, as well as the laminated timber and solid wood sectors.

Simulation
Several years ago, MINDA began using Emulate3D to create digital twins for simulating intralogistics systems in the corrugated board industry.
This allows all transport processes of corrugated stack handling – within a virtual factory environment including high-bay storage – to be fully simulated.
The simulation enables the configuration of any desired scenario and the observation of its impact on the system.
A full day of production can be simulated in just over five minutes.
This makes it possible to evaluate a wide range of system variants in a very short time using key performance indicators and statistical analyses.

Customer Benefits
MINDA describes the customer benefits as follows:
Analysis of transport scenarios for the strategic optimization of system utilization
Learning how to respond effectively to system failures to increase equipment availability
Optimization of daily operations, e.g., by identifying the most efficient cutting schedules
The cost of simulation pays for itself in a short time through reduced operating expenses.
