Assignment

The existing configurator for the Interroll portfolio, which had been used by both Interroll and system integrators as well as plant engineers, had become outdated and was due for replacement.

Following a comprehensive evaluation of tools and integration partners, Interroll decided to implement a new configurator based on Emulate3D in collaboration with SimPlan.
Key reasons for this decision were the performance and innovative strength of Emulate3D, along with SimPlan’s experience and organizational scale.

Outcome

With the new layout tool, complete material handling solutions can not only be designed and planned on screen, but also enhanced with multimedia 3D presentations of the proposed systems.

These presentations provide users with a preview of their projects before implementation.
Further development of the layout tool toward material flow simulation and a virtual commissioning solution is currently underway.

Technology

The Interroll Layouter was developed as a plug-in for Emulate3D.

To ensure a smooth start to the planning process, users can first select key parameters of the intended conveyor system—such as the type, weight, and size of the conveyed goods.
Subsequently, the required conveyor modules can be selected and easily arranged into a customized material flow solution via drag and drop, all while considering the user’s specific spatial conditions.

CAD data can be imported or exported to other applications with just a click.
Thanks to the modular nature of Interroll’s technology portfolio, different platform solutions can be effortlessly combined—enabling even highly complex conveyor systems to be planned and implemented with minimal engineering effort.
